In this series of posts, I’ll show you how to make your German-speaking colleagues laugh with ONE simple sentence.

Die Deutsche Post (the German post office) is one of the world’s largest postal service and international courier service companies.

It became a symbol for active and fast procedures to deliver letters and packages (um Briefe und Packete zu senden).

Observing how everything is processed (wie alles bearbeitet wird), one could feel how active and alive these processes are working.

Sometimes (Manchmal) it feels so alive that one might even have the impression that all hell has broken loose.

And that’s exactly what we mean with this German expression.

So when we say in German:

We actually mean:

So here’s your action step :-)

Imagine your German-speaking colleague Fritz invites you to the Oktoberfest in München (lädt dich zum Oktoberfest in München ein).

For you, it’s the very first time (das allererste Mal) you go to the Oktoberfest, but you got ready and prepared…

When the moment comes, you enter one of those beer tents (eines dieser Bierzelte) …

Look at Fritz delighted (entzückt) and tell him:

Fritz, hier geht ja voll die Post ab! (Fritz, it’s crazy here, all hell breaks loose!)
