Here are some of the sample sentences I go through in the podcast:
Ich verpflichte mich.
(I commit myself.)
I commit myself.
Ich verpflichte mich, hier zu bleiben.
(I commit myself, here to stay.)
I commit myself to stay here.
Er verpflichtet sich, mindestens zwei Jahre hier zu bleiben.
(He commits himself, at least two years here to stay.)
He commits himself to stay here at least for two years.
Sie verpflichtet sich, mindestens vier Jahre in dieser Firma zu bleiben.
(She commits herself, at least four years in this firm to stay.)
She commits herself to stay in this firm at least for four years.
Er hat sich verpflichtet, in dieser Firma zu bleiben.
(He has himself committed, in this firm to stay.)
He committed himself to stay in this company.
Ich habe mich verpflichtet, mindestens zwei Jahre in dieser Firma zu bleiben.
(I have myself committed, at least two years in this company to stay.)
I committed myself to stay in this company at least for two years.
