#1 Diary of a German Engineer

You already have an intermediate level?

Let’s move on towards your C1/C2 level to finally speak like a native German Engineer.

In this series of posts I want to review with you the written part of the German language so you can learn key vocabulary and structures to progress with your German and feel more comfortable and fluent to express yourself.

In this episode I go through the first part of a written text. You will get the complete text with all the sentences translated one by one and also with all key vocabulary coloured so that it’s easier to follow, to understand and to learn.

Find also a convenient audio file where I deconstruct each sentence in its “finite elements” and explain every key vocabulary and grammar structure in detail.

In this episode you’ll learn:

  • the difference between the spoken language (Verbalstil) and the written language (Nominalstil)
  • the key elements to move from a B1/B2 to a C1/C2
  • how to create genitive structures
  • when to use the Präteritum and the Perfekt
  • how to memorize efficiently the irregular forms in the Präteritum and the participle
  • the importance of “phrasel verbs” (Verb-Präposition-Verbindung)
  • to review prepositions that require accusative and dative

Die Verhandlung (1/10)
